University of New Mexico men’s basketball assistant coach Brandon Mason was arrested for aggravated DWI early Friday morning.
Mason was arrested in the Paseo del Norte/Louisiana area in northeast Albuquerque at 12:25am. He has been suspended from all coaching duties until further notice, per official UNM Athletics statement. No further comments at this time.
The Metropolitan Detention Center booking said Mason failed to stop while emerging from an alley or driveway, and he failed to keep his vehicle within the traffic lane.

Early this morning, The University of New Mexico Athletic Department became aware that assistant men’s basketball coach Brandon Mason was arrested for aggravated DWI. At this time, Coach Mason is suspended from all coaching duties until further notice. When the timing is appropriate, the department will provide an update on the situation.
