Isaiah Marin announced an unusual double committed on Wednesday evening.

The 6’5 point guard will go the junior college route for the upcoming season and play for South Plains College. He then plans to join the University of New Mexico men’s basketball team for the 2021-22 season.

Marin, from College Prep Academy, conducted a virtual visit with New Mexico late April and received an offer from the Lobos late May.

“I wanna start by saying thank you to the man above. Without him I wouldn’t be able to do what I do or be in the position I’m in today…. Appreciate everyone who been rocking with me in this process, we barely getting started,” read part of his Instagram post.
