New Mexico finished the regular season with a losing record (13-17), but while the team struggled overall, the Mountain West conference still offered some recognition for the Lobos before the tournament.
The league’s 11 coaches voted and their results were released on Tuesday. Senior guard Anthony Mathis was named to the All-Mountain West Third Team for the second year in a row.

Mathis has picked up 441 points this season. He tied UNM’s record of three-pointers in a single season with 102. The senior has been a key part of the Lobo offense this year as he is the most consistent scorer and leads the team averaging 14.7 points per game.
On Monday, the MW media gave honorable mentions to Mathis, redshirt sophomore Vance Jackson and redshirt junior Carlton Bragg.
